Every year, Nebraska schools and libraries are major purchasers of books for media center, classroom, and library use. This is a lucrative, specialized market—and IPAC can help you sell to it.
IPAC is a cooperative marketing program for publishers and authors, targeted to Nebraska schools and libraries. We provide promotional services, including cooperative mailings, graphic design, cooperative trade show displays, and book listings in the Nebraska Book Source catalog. Costs are reasonable, and you are welcome to participate in any or all of our services as your needs dictate.
IPAC Cooperative Mailing
Our Cooperative Mailing is for publishers and authors who wish to do their own order fulfillment. Each fall, we include flyers and sell sheets from other publishers and organizations for a small fee in a cooperative mailer. Librarians and educators have come to recognize our distinctive envelope design, printed in burgundy ink with the IPAC logo and marketing copy.
The number of participants is limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Graphic design and printing services are available for those who need them. This mailing reaches over 1,200 potential buyers in the Nebraska education and library market.
Nebraska Book Source Catalog
The Nebraska Book Source Catalog, included in the Cooperative Mailing and distributed via trade shows and information requests, is for publishers and authors who wish us to handle order fulfillment. We include your book listing under the appropriate genre with a cover image and description for a fee, and maintain an inventory of your title. Visit our Nebraska Book Source page for more information.
Cooperative Book Display
We showcase books and other appropriate products at our Cooperative Book Display at the Nebraska Book Festival, an annual celebration of books and literature sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book. We will display your book at our staffed booth accompanied by any promotional materials you send, such as sell sheets, catalogs, or order forms. All books are displayed face-out. We can also sell your books directly to customers at the booth, shipping and billing on your behalf. Attended by hundreds of potential buyers, the festival is an exciting event, and your book should be there.
What Are the Advantages of IPAC?
Year-Round Sales Potential
Our Cooperative Mailing and the Nebraska Book Source catalog are often included in a librarian or educator’s “wish list,” so that when budget allows, they can order the books and products they need. This provides excellent, long-term exposure for publishers, and the potential for sales from the catalog and mailing lasts throughout the year. Most school and library budgets are set in late fall or shortly after the first of the year. Our fall mailing schedule provides the perfect opportunity to be a part of purchasing for the new year.
Save by Combining Forces
It could easily cost over $500 for a single publisher to develop a promotional piece and mail it to all Nebraska schools and libraries. By participating in IPAC, you can save hundreds of dollars and know that your promotional materials are reaching the right audience at the right time.
